Trunk or Treating
Looking for a safe trick or treating idea? Replace the trick with trunk and go Trunk or Treating instead. This idea
is grest for church groups and neighborhoods where there are no sidewalks or the houses are spread out too far.
How it Works
Ask for volunteers to decorate the trunks of their cars and pass out candy. The best location is a large parking lot or a neighborhood cul-de-sac. The
volunteers park their cars so the trunks are facing the parking lot and create a large circle of trunks. Trunk or Treaters go from trunk to trunk instead of
door to door to get candy. Glow sticks are a fun way to illuminate the night.
This idea is really fun if the people passing out candy decorate their trunks and wear a costume. Let your imagination run wild!
A firepit area away from the trick or treating area is another fun idea. When the kids finish trunk or treating, they can go the firepit area for food and
refreshments. Ask guests to bring food such as chili, hot dogs and marshmallows for roating by the fire. A halloween fireput is a great place to
tell scary stories.
