Things to Consider When Planning
Party Games and Activities

Everyone enjoys a good party. Fun party games and activities can turn an ordinary party into a great party. Great party games and activities should encourage guests to interact and provide hours of entertainment.

Party games are a great way to introduce guests, encourage conversation and break the ice among guests. Party games are an interactive and exciting way to ensure guests have a great time.

When planning games and activities consider the following:

Space Requirements

Consider the space available and space needed to play the game. Are there any obstables in the space that are dangerous? Is there enough room for the game to be played safely? Is the game required to be played outside or can it be played inside?

Time

How long is the party and how much time is needed to play each game? Be sure to allow enough time for guests to ask questions and for each game to be played. Don't forget to consider the other activities such as cake and ice cream and opening presents. Be sure to plan ahead and give yourself enough time for each activity.

Ability of Players

The age of each child should be considered when chooisng party games. Games should be age appropriate and give each person the chance to win. Also consider the physical capabilities of each guest. A person in a wheel chair cannot participate in musical chairs, so be sure to consider each guests ability.

Interests

What are the interests of the guests? Are they huge sports fans, do they like to travel, do they like crafts? Games should be tailored to the interests of the guests to encourage maximum participation.

Be Prepared

Plan ahead and be sure to have all the materials needed for each game. Always make sure to have extra materials such as pencils and paper.

Rules

Make sure to explain the rules ahead of time and be sure everyone understands BEFORE the game begins. Demonstrate if necessary.

Questions

Don't forget to ask if anyone has any questions and be prepared to answer them.
